The other side of sunrise

EVER THOUGHT WHAT'S on the other side of sunrise? Aside from the joy that you feel as you watch its cascading orange glow, what else can you think about? Puzzled? Well, I tell you what for me: On the other side of the world, the people who find enthusiasm in watching sunset snivel as they see it totally vanishing…
Most of the time, people find pleasure in a lot of habits that they do. Just like when they talk, laugh about others’ mistakes, judge their friends, and so forth. It seems like they can never be contended in seeing a pink parasol worn by a guy, ‘til they criticize it and shout, “baduy!” Or like when they give a friend some couple of spiders though they know that he has arachnophobia.
There’s more, I’m definite about that.
However, vis-à-vis our discussion in Communication Theory, I relate this to a certain phenomenon: “Name-calling”.
“Name-calling” is when you assign names to different people based on how you perceive their personalities and physical attributes. Yes, it might be fun for some people. Why? Because they love to laugh at others. Particularly when they don’t like the person. Or perhaps, they do it for the sake of a naïve fulfillment.
Hence, I tell you: Be careful when you do “name-calling”. Wondering why? Sometimes, you may offend people. It is not right. If you find pleasure in doing it, just think of your “victims”. If you are in their position, what would you feel? Will your confidence not be affected? Your ego? Will it not be offended? If your answer to any of these questions is “yes”, then there is no much to talk about. Simply stick to this: Do not do unto others what you do not want to be done unto you. However, if you say “no” to all those questions or to at least one of those, then face the veracity of life: Not all people in the world is born and raised the way you are. Some people can’t take jokes lightheartedly. Believe me, I tell you.
No one can tell to the sun to stop rising in the gray horizon just to avoid the dusk surmounting the other side. But anyone can tell to the self to stop doing things that may negatively affect others. Though people do not have the power to control the nature of the Earth, they have the power to control the nature of human existence, of human behavior – their own behavior. This may not be applicable to every aspect; hence it is when it comes to “name-calling” and the like. Just think of sunrise if you find it hard to do so: As we find happiness in watching the cascading rays walloping to our very skin, the other part of the world suffers the opposite. Just as you find it entertaining to call others by what you want to, others find it insulting.
Bank on that fact with nature’s guide!
