Rasante

RASANTE – THE PHOTO LIGHTING, in which there are two strong opposing lights where the shifting is apparently seen like when the half of the face is so dark, while the other is so bright. (SOURCE: My brain that has processed data from a free photography seminar I recently attended.)

Speaking with a soft voice, she said, “Why do we share what we know? It’s because we want to uplift ourselves.”

Then, the members of the audience smiled as if they heard an angel preaching Gabriel’s lessons of knowledge. This was still a scenario from a seminar with the wife of the owner of Photos du monde.
She was then explaining a lesson she learned from her husband who taught her to share what you know. She was baffled, she said, in her husband’s desire to teach his techniques in photography to people until she was told that there is a rationale behind that…

She continued while adding the smile on her face, “How will we uplift our self if we teach and share what we know? It’s because when you share what you know, you will be challenged to know ever better. By that also, you’ll bring to the people your taste and your culture for them to find out that even in the culture of images, there will be modernism that we would have to break a rule in order to achieve a beautiful photo.”

Very dulcet, isn’t it?

I found out that it would cost around Php14 000 for only four hours in order to invite the staff of Photos du monde to conduct a seminar for an establishment or group.

We then asked if why we are having it for free.

“Kasi nililigawan namin ngayon ang AUF para asana sa’min na sila magpa-Graduation pic para sa mga graduating students nila,” they said.

Harsh, isn’t’ it?

Just like rasante – deeds have their opposing agendas....
