Imbecilic god (Should it be with capital G?)

AMANG SUGA IS THE father of Sinukuwan and Magayon in the show Diyosa at ABS-CBN. The two are sisters who live in Kabanua, the equivalence of Heaven or Paradise in the story. Magayon is the antagonist while Sinukuwan is the protagonist.

Recently, however, Magayon and Sinukuwan had their physiques interchanged because Magayon used supernatural powers, which she acquired from the Aklat ng Propesiya (Book of Prophecy), to do so even without Sinukuwan’s will. Thus, Magayon, sojourning in the body of Sinukuwan, is able to hoodwink almost all and sundry except the characters in this list:


Kulas, Bacus, Miyong, Huling, Mars, and Venus

Now, the question is: Where is Amang Suga in the list? Well, he is the father of the two. I suppose he should be aware if something is atypical about his daughters.

Moreover, Amang Suga portrays the role of being the Heavenly Father in the story. If allegorized with scenarios in Christianity, he is the Almighty God. (Thus I should even use the pronoun “He” – with the capital “H”.) So, he must really know.

As well, he used to master the Aklat ng Propesiya. He has been reading it ever since. How did I know? Well, last night he said, “Kung hindi nakasulat sa Aklat ng Propesiya, hindi ko na alam…” (If it’s not written in the Book of Prophecy, I wouldn’t know…)

He was then being asked of what is the rationale and the panacea for Josephine’s woe – she became an ugly woman with corrugating facial skin when she wore the tiara during her coronation. Magayon knew what could happen to Josephine if she will accept the tiara because she read it in the Book of Prophecy, in which she even yanked the page where the prediction was written.

How come Amang Suga didn’t know what the solution is even if Magayon yanked that page? Well, I suppose he should have noticed that there’s a missing page in the book if he used to megastudy the Book of Prophecy. Then, he should have been suspicious of someone who might have filched that page. However, he didn’t.

Gee, I didn’t know that the Heavenly Father (or should I say “Kabanua Father”?) is a worthless simpleton!

Now, you might hoist your eyebrows and mutter to me that the show Diyosa is only “scripted”. So now you assume that the program is effectual because I get gnawed by what’s happening? Or is it not better to ask, "Is this person reacting because the show is being so fruitless to the point that it does pathetic, infuriating portrayals just to have an impact?"

I don’t know whose fault it is. Is it to the director or the script writer? Or is it both? They are making a portrayal of an imbecilic god, I suppose.

Something must be done in the way Filipinos make their shows.

It is a must to diversify!
