MY SOLUTION TO ALMOST everything is doing nothing. Though I’ve been enchanted by the concept of Katniss Everdeen—the symbol, the one voice of rebellion that will change the world—it’s just my default mode to meet people in the middle. In life I’ve learned I can’t defend my rebellious team if I don’t have the favor of the management. So, it’s necessary to win both sides by doing nothing. And contrary to popular belief, doing nothing requires every ounce of energy in our body. While many think that it makes you an enabler, sometimes a tremendous amount of power lies in remaining balanced. In fact, my friend Marjorie is someone rather close to being a Katniss Everdeen or even a Thatcher, while I take more of the Elizabethan path.

But events like this can trigger my inner Targaryen. A Hitler. Or a mad Jesus.

2046

JUST IMAGINE IF BY the year 2046, all firms would require their employees to become multi-tasked individuals... Where will my son go?

It’s is all about flexibility. “We emphasize the shift from a ‘Tayloristic’ organization of work (characterized by significant specialization by tasks) to a ‘Holistic’ organization (featuring job rotation, integration of tasks and learning across tasks),” stated in a study by Assar Linbeck and Dennis J. Snower. It was also mentioned by these two researchers that an increasing percentage of firms around the globe are adapting this kind of reorganization – multi-tasking.

Uncertainty for my absence in OSCAS Night

THERE WILL BE LIGHTS flashing a prism-like brilliance. There will be emotions beating with the tempo of the dance. Tables shall be adorned with white linens and could, perhaps, also be festooned with balloons. I’ve always loved to attend parties like this one. But tonight, in our college night, I’m certain that I can’t make it; however, I’m uncertain of the reasons….

It came back…

MIRACULOUSLY, I FOUND MY dream-catcher, which I reported lost in my former article in this blog! The lesson learned:

Toxins in medicine bottles

EXASPERATINGLY, I CAN’T OPEN the bottle of the “Solmux for children” that my mother recently bought from the drugstore. I needed to use the outlandish device in our uncanny-looking scissor to open it – it looks like a pair of canine teeth that can’t meet. It was made of metal. (The user would need to clench the “canine teeth” around the cap and then twirl it.)

However, by using it, I thought I would break the bottle. I was anxious that glass-bits might form when the mouth of the bottle cracks; and then Coy-coy, my nephew currently living with us, might inadvertently ingest them with his dosage from the medicine dropper.
